Research directed by Gaulam Maulik of the Harvard Medical School, working with the University of Connecticut, compared this ocean-soucred plant calcium (trademarked as AlgaeCal®) with the common forms calcium supplementation available today – calcium carbonate and calcium citrate.
The results showed that AlgaeCal® increased alkaline phosphatase activity 200 percent more than calcium carbonate and 250 percent more than calcium citrate. From 2000 – 2005, researchers at Creighton University in Omaha, NE conducted a randomized study with 1,179 healthy, postmenopausal women. To qualify for the study, women had to be cancer-free for 10 years prior. Researchers used a placebo, calcium supplement and calcium with vitamin D3 at triple the government’s paltry RDA of 400 IU for middle-age adults.
The findings showed a dramatic 60 percent or greater reduction in cancer risk, compared with women who received only calcium or a placebo. 60% reduction!

These two compounds, vitamin D3 and Calcium (and they were using the less effective citrate form too) were being turned into a natural chemotherapeutic hormone by the body’s immune system called “calcitriol”, helping the body to stamp out cancer. Naturally, the mainstream media dismissed it as not “newsy” enough and kept reporting on Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan escapades.
