The latest news from the pharmaceutical and food industries really takes the cake.

Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Diet 7-Up and Diet Dr Pepper actually put on weight rather than taking it off!

Those of you who read my November 7th article regarding the dangers of sugar consumption and sugar substitutes know that I have been screaming about the dangers of these insidious foods, marketed fraudulently as “diet” solutions, when in fact they are the reverse.

But there is something more dangerous lurking in these liquid poisons.

Diet Sodas Change Your Brain Chemistry

A Purdue University study found that artificial sweeteners found in Diet Coke, Pepsi etc., actually foster weight gain by confusing the body in a way that makes it harder to burn calories! Just one can or bottle a day is enough to trigger the change.

In the study, one group of rats were fed yogurt sweetened with glucose, a simple sugar with the same calories as table sugar. Another group received yogurt with saccharin. The saccharin group went on to consume far more calories, gain more weight and put on more body fat. Other artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame (NutraSweet), Sucralose and Splenda, have similar effects.

The findings come hot on the heels of a separate study that directly linked Diet Soda consumption to an increased likelihood of Metabolic Syndrome, the latest epidemic raging through the western world.

It sounds contradictory at first glance. The answer can be found in the way these artificial (drug-like) substances try to “trick” the body and brain.

“There’s something about diet foods that changes people’s metabolic limit, the brain chemistry,” said Dr Marie Savard, medical researcher for ABC News.

Savard said that a recent study, which included more than 18,000 people, found healthy adults who consumed at least one diet drink a day actually increased their chances for weight gain. The diet drinks actually drove people to overeat!

“The taste buds taste sweet, but there’s no calorie load that comes with it. There’s a mismatch here. It seems to change your brain chemistry in some way,” Savard said.
“Anything you put in your mouth, your body has a strong reaction to it. It’s much more than counting calories. It seems normally with sweet foods that we rev up our metabolism and eat more.”

The information may come as a surprise to the 59% of Americans who consume diet soft drinks, the second most popular low calorie, sugar free product in the nation.

“We have to totally rethink what this artificial sweetener stuff does to us. If we put this in water and our body, it might not be so good,” she said.

I don’t know about you, but every person I see drinking Diet Coke or Pepsi is fat, not skinny!

The epidemic of diabetes alone should tell us that something has gotten into our food chain. It’s affecting our young children, most of whom are obese, suffering heart disease, high cholesterol and early-onset diabetes. This is a time bomb of enormous proportions for the future.

The FDA has received more consumer complaints about Aspartame (NutraSweet) than any other food or additive, yet they stonewall attempts to have it banned. Slowly but surely the facts are coming out.

Another study, conducted by the University of Minnesota, came to the same conclusions and this study also examined the dangers of daily consumption of other junk foods, particularly meat found in items like Big Macs, the Whopper and hot dogs.

Lots of meat, fried foods and diet soda add up to heart disease and cancer. The conclusions add to a swelling body of evidence linking fast food with unhealthy and shortened lifestyles.

Dr. Lyn Steffen, an associate professor epidemiology at the University of Minnesota, examined the diets of 9,514 people in a study funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. In a departure from related studies, this one went into a detailed look at precisely what people were eating. Most people in the study were aged 45 to 64. Based on a 66-item food frequency questionnaire, the volunteers were categorized into two groups:

  • those with a “western-pattern” diet, heavy on processed meat, fried foods, red meat
  • and those with a “prudent-pattern” diet with more fruits and vegetables, with small amounts of fish and poultry

After nine years, nearly 40% of those involved who were on the Standard American Diet (SAD) developed three or more of the factors linked to Metabolic Syndrome. This was clear even when smoking and exercise were factored in.

The one-third of the group who ate the most fried foods, increased their risk of death by 25%, compared with the one-third who ate the least, and not surprisingly, the risk of developing Metabolic Syndrome was 34% higher among those who drank just one can of Diet Soda a day compared with those who drank none.

“You Are What You Eat” is the oldest adage in health-related dietary science. The message is loud and clear. We have a natural answer, with three extraordinary formulas that can help this staggering problem very quickly, for young and old alike.

Mother Nature to the Rescue
We have successfully treated Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome with the following formulas and dietary changes.

DiaBesity Blood Glucose Formula – A blockbuster of pancreas regenerating compounds to control high blood sugar.

Life Transfusion Liquid Mineral Complex – This is a blockbuster mineral/trace mineral liquid complex that is very, very high in essential Magnesium. Magnesium does many things in the body, particularly increasing insulin sensitivity. You need high insulin sensitivity so the body can control the sugar in the bloodstream.

More Tips and Suggestions:

  • Exercise for 45 minutes every single day, even if you can only shuffle down the hallway. Getting movement in your body tells your body that you want to stay here, not leave ahead of schedule.
  • Never drink RED BULL, it’s full of cancer-causing Nutrasweet (Aspartame). Read my article, What Really Causes Lupus and MS to learn more about what artificial sweeteners do to the nervous system.
  • Cut out all High Fructose Corn Syrup drinks. They are just as poisonous.
  • Ditto for milk, cheese, ice cream, butter and melted cheese pizzas. Switch to soy milk or cashew milk or almond milk.

In closing, do not hesitate about implementing the information in this newsletter and the results of these two exhaustive studies that now show that Frankenstein chemicals are never any substitute for what Mother Nature can give you.
