Breast Cancer Survival – What Price Will You Pay?

October 16th, 2015

Breast Cancer Awareness Month…

It’s not enough to be “aware” anymore! You have to take action – and I don’t mean the kind of “action” that Angelina Jolie took – removing both of her breasts in an attempt to keep from getting breast cancer.  It’s completely unnecessary and frightfully invasive!

Don’t be fooled! You can avoid breast cancer in your lifetime.  Let me say that again!

You can avoid breast cancer in your lifetime!

Today’s newsletter includes two women’s stories, and how they dealt with breast cancer very contrary to our philosophy.

Both needed to be told the truth about breast cancer:  You can avoid it without a double mastectomy, and you should not panic if you get this diagnosis.

We will be doing a 2-part series this month, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. We will definitely be taking a different approach from what you are accustomed to hearing.

Next week we will get into the specifics of the hope that you can have, both in avoiding breast cancer, or dealing with it in ways that will help to keep your body strong, while fighting off this disease.

Read on to hear the stories from these two women. Please share this information with as many people as you can. It may well save their lives.

Angelina Jolie’s Story

You’ve may remember reading in 2013 that Angelina Jolie in 2013 voluntarily had surgery to remove her breasts and ovaries, after losing her mother to ovarian cancer and chemotherapy treatment, because Angelina inherited a damaged copy of the BRCA1 gene, which may increase her risk of ending up with breast or ovarian cancer herself.

Angelina JolieThe reality is that a double mastectomy is worth $50,000 in the coffers of traditional healthcare providers.

Jolie, like many women, had been terrified into a state of total obedience to the cancer industry. She has been lied to and told this BRCA1 gene gives her an “87% chance of breast cancer”.

It’s a complete lie. Cancer is never a matter of “chance” or “luck.”

It’s a matter of cause and effect. You must look at the root source of cancer: food and lifestyle.

We’ve been screaming from the rooftops that you can “Cancer-Proof Your Body” by adopting a plant-based diet along with taking immune system and hormonal balancing supplements.

If Angelina had followed this course, she would have never chosen a double mastectomy as a “preventative” operation and the pain of reconstruction that went with it.

Jackie Collins’ Story

Jackie Collins

“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today.”

This was the announcement of the death of the beloved novelist. She suffered with this disease for nearly 7 years and never told anyone except her children.

She ignored the lump in her breast stating, “I’m not dealing with this, because in my mind I decided it was benign”. Even though her own mother had died of breast cancer, Collins did not seek treatment until she found herself limping on a book tour. The cancer in her breast had now spread to her bones.

We can all learn from her example. Don’t allow fear to cause us to not react to our body’s signals. Don’t bury your head in the sand and ignore symptoms that could potentially lead to death.

Have You Been a Victim of ”Medical Blackmail”?

We have heard from clients who tell us that they have been “blackmailed” by their traditional physicians when they tell them they are going to seek alternative therapies – sad but true.

Cartoon of doctor fleecing patientOne patient was told by her reconstructive surgeon, that if she tried to support her chemotherapy and radiation treatments with immune supporting supplementation he would, “not do her breast reconstruction surgery”. She was terrified to be left with the deep recesses in her chest, that she gave in to his demands and went without!

It’s this type of behavior that influences cancer patients to make rash decisions that could impact their lives.

We are in a time when doctors are instilling more fear than hope. Until men and women quit falling prey to “scare tactic” medicine, they will continue to accept unnecessary and sometimes life-threatening treatment.

Every person should take the time to evaluate the pros and cons of the treatment choices they are considering, so that they can make an intelligent, informed decision. Don’t allow fear to motivate your decision-making process.

Traditional Medicine is Failing

Last year, nearly 2 million women (and men) were diagnosed with breast cancer, and if something doesn’t change, 13 million lives will be lost to this epidemic in the next 25 years.

Only 30% of cancer patients survive with cancer therapy. (“Survival” means those who have lived 5 years from their diagnoses). This means 70% die with cancer therapy. (Source: “Food Matters”)

Traditional medicine’s path of lumpectomy, mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation is meant to prolong life. It does little, if anything, to eradicate the actual underlying issue – the cancer itself.

Once patients are convinced to do surgery, then the follow-up treatment begins. This can include hormone suppressing prescriptions that can cause side-effects, as well as chemotherapy, which is the obvious next step considered necessity in the mainstream medical community.

This video should be a wake up call for everyone who receives a cancer diagnosis. We are taught that chemotherapy MUST be done, if you want to combat this disease. Well, you’re about to find out the truth behind the push for chemotherapy.

15 Foods to Cancer-Proof Your Body

June 5th, 2015

Vegetables at the market

My friend and colleague, Greg Ashby, who is a Health Coach on our team, has written an informative listing of foods that help in combating cancer in the body.

My experience in working with cancer has shown me that incorporating these types of foods and herbs, into your daily diet, can play a powerful role in supporting the body’s efforts to heal and thrive.  In fact, this entire company was founded on the premise:

“Food is Medicine”

We work tirelessly to share our philosophy of food’s ability to help in healing the body from all disease.

I hope you enjoy this article!

While there are many healing foods available to us, here are 15 of the top herbs, fruits, vegetables and nuts to benefit you and your family by protecting you from chronic inflammation and possibly even disease.

1. Sea Vegetables, such as Arama, Kombu, Hijiki, Nori and Wakame (they sound fancy, but most can be found in the international food section of your local health foods market).

Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress are risk factors for the genesis of cancer. Sea vegetables contain a variety of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds and this nutrient combination has been shown to deliver some risk-lowering benefits in the case of colon cancer and other cancer types.

2. Turmeric (the active ingredient is curcumin) has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative benefits on blood vessel tissue lining by suppressing inflammation and/or the effects of oxidative stress (think of oxidative stress as cellular rusting). Studies have shown that curcumin can reduce the formation of blood vessels in tumors called angiogenesis. Turmeric, especially curcumin, helps to prevent changes on a molecular level. When cooking with turmeric, use coconut oil and black pepper to enhance the uptake and benefits of curcumin.

Curcumin has been shown to have significant antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity. New research shows that it can both shrink cancer tumors and inhibit blood supply growth to tumors. It is a powerful antioxidant with liver protective benefits.

3. Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant found in red grape skins, pomegranate, raw cacao, peanuts, raspberries and mulberries, which are known to have numerous beneficial health effects. Resveratrol is a compound that contributes to the antioxidant potential of red grapes, and has antioxidant and antimutagenic (anti-cancer) properties.

4. Green Tea benefits come through water-soluble polyphenols (called  EGCG , or catechins) extracted from the leaves. Evidence shows that almost every organ system is benefited by these polyphenols.

Green tea offers cardioprotective, neuroprotective, anti-obesity, anti-carcinogenic, anti-diabetic, anti-atherogenic, liver protective and blood vessel health benefits.

Research has shown beneficial effects are seen in doses of 3 to 5 cups of strong green tea as well as from 500 to 1000 mg of EGCG extract in supplement form taken daily.

5. Wasabi has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties as well as aid in detoxification and induction of death (apoptosis) of cancer cells.

6. Kimchi has been shown to have anticarcinogenic properties, as well as enhancing immune function.

7. Cruciferous Vegetables include broccoli, kale, cabbage and cauliflower.  These vegetables contain cancer-fighting components such as sulforaphane. One of the main targets of sulforaphane is  cancer stem cells, where it’s been shown to slow the growth of tumors.

8. Most all berries have a power-punch phytonutrient called anthocyanins, which research shows actually slows down the growth of precancerous cells.

9. Tomatoes contain power! The power lies in a carotenoid called lycopene, which has been shown to stop endometrial cancer cell growth as well as potentially other cancers. The trick is to use fresh, cooked tomatoes. The heating increases the body’s uptake of lycopene.

10. Walnuts contain phytosterols that block estrogen receptor cells in breast tissues, slowing growth.

11. Garlic may lower the risk of colon cancer by blocking a carcinogen called nitrosamines, a chemical compound that has been shown to  increase the risk colon cancer.

12. Beans may lower colon cancer risk by raising butyrate, a fatty acid, which has a protective effect against the growth of cancer.

13. Astragalus is a Chinese herb and an immune system booster known to stimulate the body’s natural production of interferon. It also helps the immune system identify rogue cells. Studies show that work with this herb in both cancer and AIDS cases is encouraging. The MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas conducted research showing that taking astragalus when having radiotherapy doubled survival times.

14. Cat’s Claw is an adaptogen and powerful immune-stimulant, cat’s claw enhances the white cells clean up process (phagocytosis). It is an excellent companion to astragalus, curcumin and echinacea. Research indicates that it can reduce tumor size particularly with skin cancers. It also helps reduce the side-effects of chemo and radiotherapy.

15. Medicinal Mushrooms have been known for centuries to contain cancer and disease preventing properties. Their particular area of focus is the immune system. They are anti-inflammatory, non-toxic and great for daily use.

DIM: The Magic Bullet?

October 14th, 2014

One of the BIGGEST MYTHS of modern medicine is this – We are all Estrogen deficient.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The fact is, most of us are flowing over with too MUCH Estrogen!  Where do you think the breast and prostate cancer epidemic came from?

The REAL truth is this: Basic daily exercise and a vegetarian/zero saturated fats diet will correct the problem!

Westerners are generally up to their ears in Estrogen due to gobbling down endless amounts of saturated fat, drinking alcohol, not getting any exercise, lack of fiber, and epidemic obesity.

For the past twenty years I have talked extensively about the power of a thing called Indole-3-CARBINOL or I3C, a miraculous compound found in cruciferous vegetables.

I3C, which is a precursor to DIM, can about eliminate out-of-control Estrogen and Estriol levels in both men and women.

Hope for Your Best Breast-Hormone Health!

October 10th, 2014

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we want to remind you that you can take steps right now to lower your risk of this dreaded diagnosis.

1 in 8 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and according to the CDC, other than a few types of skin cancers, breast cancer is the #1 cancer among all women and it is the #1 cause of death from cancer among Hispanic women.

Close to 250,000 Americans are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and over 40,000 die of it.

Image: Asian woman laughing with her hands over her mouth. Why is it that China and other Asian countries rarely see breast cancer?

It is because Asian cultures are geared toward living a healthier lifestyle – they rarely eat red meat and dairy, and their diets are primarily vegetarian.  They walk everywhere and include additional exercise into their daily routine.  Their stress levels are significantly lower than Americans, who have some of highest stress and anxiety levels in the world.

You can probably imagine what I suggest you do in order to lower your risk of breast cancer. First, you need to stop eating meat and dairy products.  Second, you need to exercise – every single day!  And take our Balanced Woman Formula.

When I was in China, I asked the professor at the Institute where I was studying why I had never heard any of the Asian woman discuss hot flashes, breast cancer, mood swings or PMS?

The Chinese women ate primarily vegetarian, drank pure soy milk – no dairy – and a special herbal tea called “Eternal Flame”.

As you can imagine, I seized the formula and ingredients for the tea, and brought them with me to America.  Overnight, Balanced Woman was one of our top selling formulas and still is – because it works!

Absolutely NO pharmaceuticals are involved! No drug could possibly accomplish what Balanced Woman can.  The ingredients in this formula are so powerful that China has one of the lowest rates of breast cancer in the entire world!

LIMITED TIME OFFER: Save an additional 10%* on Balanced Woman through October 21st!
